How does Manhart (Guangdong) CNC Machine Tool Co., Ltd. suggest extending the service life of punching and shearing machine molds?

How to extend the service life of punching and shearing machine molds
1、 Material selection and structural design
1. Material selection: Based on the working conditions and application environment of the punching and shearing machine mold, select materials with high strength, high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and good thermal stability. For example, steel, hard alloys, ceramics, etc.
2. Structural design: Reasonably design the mold structure to ensure the rigidity, strength, and stability of the mold. Meanwhile, the mold structure should be simplified as much as possible to reduce manufacturing costs and maintenance difficulties.
2、 Die processing technology
1. Rough machining: Remove excess materials to leave room for subsequent processing. During rough machining, the mold should be avoided from overheating and generating internal stress.
2. Semi precision machining: Further process the mold to achieve the initial shape and size specified. During semi precision machining, the flatness and smoothness of the mold surface should be ensured.
3. Precision machining: To achieve the specified shape, size, and surface quality of the mold. During precision machining, the generation of grinding burns and cracks should be avoided.

3、 Mold heat treatment
1. Quenching: Heat the mold above the critical point, maintain it for a certain period of time, and then rapidly cool it to make the surface and internal structure of the mold harder and more wear-resistant. During quenching, the heating temperature and cooling speed should be controlled to avoid mold deformation or cracking.
2. Tempering: Heat the quenched mold to an appropriate temperature and maintain it for a certain period of time to eliminate internal and structural stresses generated during the quenching process, and improve the toughness and stability of the mold. During tempering, the heating temperature and time should be controlled to avoid mold oxidation and decarburization.
4、 Usage and Maintenance
1. Use: Strictly follow the operating procedures of the punching and shearing machine to use the mold and avoid overloading and speeding. Regularly inspect the wear of the molds and replace severely worn molds in a timely manner.
2. Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain the mold to keep its surface clean and well lubricated. Regularly replace vulnerable parts to avoid major malfunctions caused by minor issues.
3. Storage: During the storage process, the mold should be placed in a dry and ventilated place to avoid moisture and corrosion. Molds that are not used for a long time should be coated with anti rust oil to prevent rusting and corrosion.
5、 Repair and Remanufacturing
1. Repair: When the mold is worn or damaged, it should be repaired in a timely manner. Repair can be done through methods such as filling, welding, electroplating, etc. After repair, the quality and performance of the mold should be ensured.
2. Remanufacturing: When the mold cannot be repaired or the repair cost is too high, remanufacturing can be considered. Remanufacturing can adopt new materials and technologies to comprehensively upgrade and transform molds, in order to extend their service life and improve performance.
In summary, extending the service life of punching and shearing machine molds requires comprehensive consideration from aspects such as material selection and structural design, mold processing technology, mold heat treatment, use and maintenance, as well as repair and remanufacturing. In practical applications, appropriate measures and methods should be selected based on specific circumstances to maximize the service life of molds and improve economic benefits.
