1、 Early structure of bending machine

Early designed bending machines used mechanical flywheel transmission mechanisms and clutch brake control systems, with bending force obtained through the energy of the flywheel. Their structural features are similar to those of motorized and press machines.

Before adopting pneumatic clutch braking, these early designed bending machines controlled the coupling mechanism between the clutch and brake through a pedal. The most commonly used structures in various applications are belt brakes and cone clutches.

In the past, there were often many accidents caused by brake belt breakage, clutch blockage, and other reasons in these old-fashioned structures, so people have put a lot of effort into modifying these machine tools.

The use of a ‘sliding’ clutch by the operator to control the bending speed will increase the wear of the clutch and cause a large amount of debris to accumulate on the surface of the flywheel and clutch.

A certain amount of debris can cause the clutch cone to tightly adhere. In this way, the slider will continue to move up and down until all the energy of the flywheel is released.

Due to the mechanical interlocking structure between the brake and clutch, when the clutch is tightened, the brake will automatically disengage

Brake band breakage is also a dangerous phenomenon that often occurs in the above-mentioned structures, which is often caused by excessive adjustment of the brake.

This type of brake structure will experience a “curling” effect during operation, resulting in significant stress. Long term excessive operation without frequent replacement of lining materials will inevitably cause excessive fatigue of the brake band, ultimately leading to damage.

In recent years, some people have attempted to use an auxiliary brake to increase braking effect, which is impractical. For bending machines, this is a dangerous and outdated method. Methods similar to auxiliary brakes are not feasible
